Mainland Greece: walk in Methoni

When most people think of holidays in Greece they think of the Greek islands such as Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Kos, and many others each different from the next. Beautiful beaches and whitewashed houses are enticements to anyone. But many of us traveling across the mainland, and this is magic, Peloponnese is an extraordinary place full of beauty and experiences.
My first travel there was five years ago and was love with first sight. We’re so lucky to live in this country who is full of history, beauty and secrets places they haven’t revealed yet.
Methoni is one of those places, 11km from Pylos and famous Costa Navarino coast overlooking the Ionian sea and the island’s complex of Oinouses.
Methoni is one the must-see place in Peloponnese peninsula. In the Iliad the epic poem of Homer King Agamemnon gifted 7 cities of Peloponnese to Achilles to continue to fight against Troy, between them was and Methoni, then Achilles decided to fight again. Methoni is an incredible place.
